Stop Searching: The Solution Is Right Here

You might have heard the famous Zen quote, “If you see the Buddha, kill him.” It’s a pretty blatant and jarring thought. Yet, the meaning behind it is one that’s incredibly powerful as a mindful, purpose-driven entrepreneur.

It’s so easy to search outside of ourselves for answers, looking to mentors, teachers, coaches, or those we admire. Yet, it’s easy to forget this one crucial truth: everything you need is already within you.

Yeah, I know sometimes that’s not always easy to believe.  And it was hard for me, too.

The more I search for information, read tons of books and blogs, and connect with people, the more I feel like, “Wait, I already knew that.” It’s that weird feeling of inner knowing, your intuition.

This is where it gets interesting. Looking back at the Buddha, for hundreds of years after his death, there were no statues. His teachings, his dharma, were passed down through generations.

Over time, people felt the need for a symbol, and Buddha statues began to appear. While these symbols can be inspiring, here’s the thing: it’s easy to confuse the symbol with the substance. The power isn’t in the statue—it’s in the teachings and your journey that matter most.

And as an entrepreneur, I know I can relate to it. Can you?

It’s Time to Stop Idolizing—Start Recognizing Your Own Power

It’s so easy to look at others and think they hold the magic keys to enlightenment, success, or fulfillment.

That somehow, they’ve figured it all out, and if you just follow their path, you’ll get there too. I’ve been there and done that, and well, often, it doesn’t come true.

Yet, sometimes it’s so hard to see this, and this can be a hard truth—you have all the answers you need inside of you. It’s your journey, your struggles, and your challenges that matter. This is your unique path.

Stop Searching—The Power Is Within You.

It’s so tempting to look for the next guru, the next course, the next book that will magically unlock everything for you. Sure, those things can offer tools and insight. Just remember, you hold the power.

You already have the ability to shape your success, to innovate, to follow your heart in both business and life.

The path you’re on, and the unique struggles and challenges you face are meant for you, not for anyone else. This is your unique journey.

Look in the mirror, not at someone else’s journey.

You are where you need to be right now.

You have everything you need to create your version of success.

The cookie-cutter “follow these steps and make a million” approach doesn’t work because your success is deeply personal. And it aligns with your soul, your values, and your purpose.

Have the Courage to Fail and Fail Fast—Then Dust Yourself Off and Keep Going

One of the hardest things I’ve learned in my life and my business is that failure isn’t something to avoid or be afraid of.

In fact, I’m still afraid of failing. Yet the key is, now, I’m not gonna let it stop me from doing the work every day.

Failure is messy. It’s uncomfortable, and yeah, sometimes it truly sucks. Yet, it’s all part of the process.

Each failure brings you closer to figuring it out. You have the courage to fail pick yourself up, and try again.

That’s where growth happens—right on the edge of failure.

Embrace it. I keep my little Buddha quote on my desk that says it all:
“Fall down 7 times, get up 8.”

Trust Yourself & The Process

Life and business are a series of lessons. Each one brings its challenges, each failure, and each step forward teaches you something invaluable.

Every lesson brings you closer to living your most authentic life and building your most authentic business.

Trust the process. You have everything you need within you.

You are exactly where you need to be.
From here, you can go anywhere.

So the next time you catch yourself putting someone on a pedestal, thinking they have something you don’t—pause.

Remember, the answers you seek are already inside you.

Something that helps me is every morning I say this to myself every morning as a reminder when I wake when I wake up: “I believe in you!” And then I high-five myself in the mirror.

Sure, it may sound a bit weird, and it was a bit uncomfortable in the beginning. Yet, it actually works. It’s an inspiring reminder and keeps me doing the reps every day to stay focused and grow my business.

Final Thought

It’s time to trust yourself, your journey, and your power. You don’t need a statue, a coach, or anyone else to validate your path. You may need them for some other kind of support.

The only validation you need comes from within.

You have the power to shape your own destiny, create your own success in business and life, and have it filled with purpose and meaning.

Paragraph I’m Pondering

“Believe it can be done. When you believe something can be done, your mind will find the ways to do it. Believing a solution paves the way to a solution. Eliminate “impossible,” “won’t work,” “can’t do,” and “no use trying” from your thinking and speaking vocabulary.” ~ David J. Schwartz, The Magic of Thinking Big – Acquire The Secrets of Success… Achieve Everything You’ve Always Wanted.

Powerful Affirmations to Inspire

  • I am receptive to new ideas and love trying new approaches to create success.
  • Capacity is only a state of mind. I always find intelligent and imaginative shortcuts.
  • I love connecting with new people to help stimulate new ideas and new ways of thinking.
