Authentic Curiosity & The Beginner’s Mind: Embracing A Soulful Marketing Approach

I want to share with you something that’s more than just a concept. It’s a transformative approach in the marketing world – it’s about embracing authentic curiosity and the beginner’s mind, especially when it comes to Soulful Marketing.

This is about diving into what makes your marketing genuinely resonate and connect with your dream clients on a deeper level.

Have you ever attended a workshop or event, and the speaker got up there and started talking about a topic, and your mind immediately shut down and didn’t pay attention to the rest of the presentation?

This used to happen to me. The more experience I accrued in marketing, my mind would just shut down until my executive coach suggested that I adopt a beginner’s mind and be more curious. Doing that one thing gave me a fresh perspective on being open and absorbing more knowledge.

Hmmmm…

Embracing the Beginner’s Mind

It’s all about approaching marketing strategies as if you were learning them for the first time. Set aside what you think you know and look at it with fresh eyes.

How does this help? When you think you know it all, you close the door to your innovation and to new ideas.

The beginner’s mind lets you stay open, adaptable, and innovative. Be okay with not knowing everything and be eager to learn and grow.

The Power of Authentic Curiosity

Imagine you’re a kid again, looking at the world with wide-eyed wonder. That’s authentic curiosity. Look at your marketing not just as tasks to complete—see it as a journey of exploration and connection.

You want to ask questions such as, “What are my dream client’s deepest fears when it comes to their business?” and “What can I learn from really listening to them?” instead of “How can I sell to them?” Or, “How can I get them to buy x?” (Using AI will help tremendously with this. Reach out  to me if you’re interested in discovering more.)

Authentic curiosity is a superpower in Soulful Marketing. It’s about genuinely wanting to understand and connect with your dream clients – knowing their pains, joys, dreams, hopes, and fears. It’s not about manipulating these emotions but about connecting with them, offering solutions that resonate on a deeper, more personal level.

Why This Matters in Your Business

When you practice Soulful Marketing, embracing your authenticity, curiosity, and being in a beginner’s mind will help transform your business.

It will guide you to create effective, empathetic marketing strategies that are aligned with your core values. You want to attract your dream clients, build a community of like-minded people, and repel everyone else.

Strategies That Will Help You:

Build Deeper Connections – You want to create marketing messages that speak to your dream client’s hearts. It’s like saying, “I see you, I hear you, and I’m here to help you.” It’s also about writing in the second person and speaking to them like you’re having coffee with them in their kitchen. (Especially this time of year. I wish you were here having coffee with me  in my kitchen!)

Stay Relevant and Innovative – The beginner’s mind keeps you on your toes. It ensures your strategies evolve with your dream client’s needs, helping you stay relevant and unique.

Foster Trust and Loyalty – People can sense when you’re genuinely interested in them or “just trying to sell them something.” This authenticity builds trust and, over time, transforms your dream clients into loyal clients and a part of your community.

How to Cultivate These Qualities:

Listen More Than You Speak – Focus more on listening and being present, NOT what you will say next. Absorb their stories and honest feedback – it’s gold for your marketing insights.

Constant Learning – Invest time in learning new strategies, trends, technologies, and your dream clients’ behaviors. Stay curious and open to new ideas.

Reflect and Adapt – Regularly assess your marketing strategies. Be honest with what’s working and what’s not. Be open to pivot when necessary.

Embrace Vulnerability – It’s okay not to have all the answers. Share your learning process; your dream clients will appreciate your transparency.

Soulful marketing is not just a strategy; it’s about connecting, learning, and growing with your dream clients. Make every interaction a meaningful and enriching experience for both you and your clients.

Remember, in the world of soulful marketing, every day is an opportunity to learn something new and make a real difference.

You totally got this. And I’m always here cheering you on and available to help you.

Paragraph I’m Pondering:

“90% of people in the world are convinced they are incapable of achieving great things, so they aim for mediocre. The level of competition is the fiercest spirit for realistic goals, paradoxically making the most time- and energy-consuming. It’s easier to raise a million dollars than it is $100,000.” ~ Tim Ferris

Powerful Affirmations to Inspire:

Change me Divine Beloved into One who offers all actions and projects over to You alone. Let me trust that if something is meant to be, it will always BE, regardless of criticism or ridicule. May I always stay true to my inspiration, regardless of the opinions of others. May I trust where You are guiding me, knowing that doors open at the right time as needed when You are my Source. ~ Tosha Silver

Weekly Earworm:

“I want to rock and roll all night and party every day,” Kiss. (This came to me last week while I was packing VERY early in the morning for the adventure home. I guess my brain realized I needed a bit of a boost of energy. 😉

David Walsh is one of my most favorite guys whom I’ve known for over 15 years. We’ve done a lot of work together, and he just launched his Impossible Goals Program and is helping so many entrepreneurs, including me, accomplish their goals in 3 months. This isn’t your grandfather’s goal-setting program. It’s all about goal achievement. Congrats, David, on helping so many people.

Weekly Scavenger Hunt:

You’re not gonna believe this – I found another 11 cents last week while we were away. Dimes and pennies just find me wherever I go. Does that ever happen to you?

Weekly Photos:

Last week, Alice and I traveled down to Southern CA to check in on her parents. It’s always a fun driving adventure. I’m always amazed at how much there is to see out the window on that drive.

There are bird sanctuaries, thousands of fruit and nut trees, beautiful sunsets, and sunrises from the windows and side mirrors. So many mountains and much more. I posted more pics on my personal Facebook account. What’s your favorite driving adventure?

Pic of Emma so happy that we’re back home, and she’s all snuggled in her bed.
