Lessons From Launch Land…
Whenever I’m working with a client who’s launching a product, course, or service online, I always walk them through my 7-Step Soulful Marketing System. That’s actually how you might have gotten here, on my eNewsletter list. (When you downloaded my 7-Step Soulful Marketing & Launch System Core Planner.) So I thought a quick refresher might be helpful. Especially now that I’m in the throes of my client’s 7-figure launch, all these lessons are hitting me in the face. And oh boy, when you’re in the throes of a launch, as I talked about last week, there are some huge lessons to be learned. Plus, some terrific reminders—Even for me, after doing them for…

In the throes of crazy town…
It’s launch week for me and my major client. All I can say is yowza, I totally forgot how zainy launch life can be. This launch has sooo many moving parts and is complicated. Yet, that’s what I do best. 🙂 So then, why do I feel like I’m in the throes of crazy town? It’s interesting as I unpack it in my head. It’s been a while since I’ve done a big launch like this with so many moving parts. (Actually, it’s going to make a terrific case study!) And I’m also working with a team that I haven’t worked with since their last launch back in 2018. So…

What do ChatGPT, virtual events, and blank screens all have in common? Hmmmm
A couple of weeks ago, I attended a live virtual 3-day event – Product Launch Formula (PLF Live). I attended this event in person many times until the pandemic hit, and as you know – there weren’t any more in-person live events. And the people behind this event decided to keep it as a virtual event. I get it because they never were able to get more than around 900 people in-person. Virtually at this event, they had almost 2k people attend from all over the world. What do you think about virtual events? Have you attended a 3-day online one before? I honestly don’t like them. The thought of…

Change is Inevitable
When I worked in Corporate America in the late 1990s and early 2000s, I had an amazing executive coach who I worked with for ten years. One of the things we focused on was how to deal with change, cuz at that point, I was dealing with at least two layoffs in three years. I often joked that I’d become a professional interviewer. The one quote that always stuck in my head about that time frame was, “Change is inevitable.” This is true, not just for your personal life. This is also true for your business. I guarantee over the course of your business. It will morph and change as you…

The launch that simply wasn’t
Have you ever launched a course, product, or service and felt like you worked your tail off, and then the big day came……and it was crickets? A few trickles of sales came in, yet overall, it was a bit of a disappointment. Well, this happens way more than you think. The reality is there are SO MANY VARIABLES you have to get right to create a significant amount of sales for a launch. Most experts don’t tell you that you’re more than likely to bomb on your first and even second launch. This is why, as a soulful marketer, I always want to be honest and give the truth about what…

The Final Fridge Adventure (Part 2)
Last week I shared with you part 1 of my spouse and I’s fridge adventure. I shared with you some insights into the first two appliance stores we perused. And I gave you some takeaways of what to do and not do when it comes to your business and attracting clients. You can access it here. In this blog post, I want to tell you about the third place we visited to peruse refrigerators. It was a very different experience. This store was more of an upscale local appliance store. We bought our washer and dryer there, so we knew they were reasonably top-notch. And we like supporting our local businesses. As soon…

The Value of Having Another Perspective
Before I get into today’s topic, I wanted to clarify something from a reader about last week’s blog, “Taming Your Brain.” I had mentioned that if I hadn’t been meditating for many years, I wouldn’t have been able to recognize or be aware of my thoughts to start changing them and taming my mind. The beauty of this is – that it was MY PROCESS. It took me a long time because of ALL the things I let get in my way, like my issues with alcohol, stopping meditating for a while, and more. Then in the past six years of being in recovery, and now my addiction to learning…

Best Copywriting Formula that will help you promote and sell anything
Since I’ve been in business, I’m always searching for the best tool that can help me be a better entrepreneur AND help my clients as well. Over the years, I’ve collected HUNDREDS of courses, books, tools, tips, techniques, mindmaps, formulas, and more. And I do LOVE sharing what I learn in hopes it can help propel you onto more success in your work and your life. As I’ve talked about many times, I’m in the midst of taking several copywriting courses. And a fun fact, while in Las Vegas, I got to meet and hang out for the day with Parris Lampropoulus, who’s a legend in the direct response copywriting…

Want some “magic” that will help you never to run out of content ideas???
This week, I’ve got some music earworms in my head. First, it was Olivia Newton John’s “Magic – You’ve got to believe in magic – nothing will stand in your way….” Then, ”Do You Believe in Magic” by the Loving Spoonfuls. Did you know that there are over 60 songs about magic?! I discovered this Google fact when I visited my Mom in Houston last week. When we heard that Olivia Newton-John had died, my Mom wanted to listen to some of her songs… This was when I went down the rabbit hole of magic, earworms, and creating content… Just the word “magic” brings about all sorts of memories and…

How to go from Idea to total market domination
Have you ever had a pretty stellar idea and thought, “wow, this could be a winner, one that could help transform a lot of people as well as create some consistent income!” What happened next? Were you able to get it off the ground? Why not? Or what happened? Sitting here in my brother-in-law’s office on a very hot and humid day in Houston, TX, I’m faced these questions. Yet, it’s not about my work, it’s about my Mom…. I flew down here to Houston, TX, and because I needed to help my sister out by taking care of my Mom (and the two dogs and cat). She’s going to…

Foolproof way to stop failing when it comes to launching new courses or products…
Have you ever had an idea for a course, product, or even a membership? What happened? Did you ever create and launch it? What were your sales? Did you ever launch it? Or maybe your sales were disappointing – what happened? These are all questions I ask my potential dream clients. As an influencer, you probably have several terrific ideas. Yet often, follow-through can be challenging. And even frustrating. It’s not fun putting months or even years of your time into creating something and never selling it, or when you do, your sales are so low it’s sometimes soul-crushing. I know this because this is something I work with my…

Do you know this secret of why people buy?
I was sitting on a Zoom call with a client brainstorming some email copy. She’s a Personal Lifestyle Designer and needed to get an email out to connect with her people about some offers and talk about summer clothing options. Memorial Day is coming up, and it’s a good time to connect with her list about upgrading their wardrobe. All the ideas she was coming up with were good, yet they’ve been done before. We needed to go deeper on an emotional level to really connect with her dream clients’ deepest fears, struggles, and desires. It was then that I started sharing some examples of how we could go deeper with…

The land of green…
Happy St. Patrick’s Day, and in some places, it truly is a celebration and can be a very “green” affair. How far would you go to create a marketing buzz around your next big launch? Well, Chicago goes to some pretty interesting lengths to dye the Chicago River that runs through the city each year a nice emerald green color. It’s a tradition going on for decades to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Apparently, the plumbers union helped… read on and watch the video for more – Depending on the business you’re in, doing a communication or promotion around a holiday is a terrific way to connect with your audience. To Be Like Retail or Not to Be…Hmmm
Happy Holidays week (for those who celebrate Christmas.) Have you sat and pondered about the retail industry and how they’ve actually trained our human behavior? It is a subject that I’m constantly fascinated by. Why do we buy stuff? Back in the day when I lived in NJ, I went to the headquarters of Bed, Bath, & Beyond (BBB) to meet with a colleague. It was there that I truly saw what’s it like to run a business based on constant coupons and sales. I thought it was an interesting idea that they always had so many discounts. I always got my BBB coupon in the mail, which seemed like…
