Attitude,  Balance,  Goals

Let’s make a pact to stop doing this…

I took on a very big launch project six weeks ago. It was for a company that I helped launch two of their other docuseries very successfully back in 2017 – 2018.

They had a change in management and reached out to me for a relaunch project. It was one of those decisions I had to think about because I was moving away from big client launches and working on a one-to-many strategy by teaching many people how to create Successful Soulful marketing launches.

Have you ever had to make a decision like that?

I ended up thinking about it for a bit, then finally decided to do it for a couple of reasons – I knew the team. I had a terrific experience from the last two launches. And I was familiar with their material, so the learning curve was minimal.

Plus, the content we are launching is near and dear to me. It’s how to reverse and prevent Alzheimer’s. My Dad died of early Alzheimer’s twelve years at age 73.

It’s definitely a project I’m behind 1,000 percent if we can just help one person or more to prevent or even reverse Alzheimer’s, I’m in.

Now that I’ve been on the project for over six weeks, things are starting to heat up as they do when planning a 7-figure launch.

There are SO MANY moving parts, and they all have to connect, much like a well-orchestrated 50k+ people event. No pressure, right?! Ha!

It’s been a while since I took on a big project like this, and I’m noticing my stress level increasing more and more.

There’s a lot I’m carrying because I truly do want to create a hugely successful relaunch for my client while helping thousands of people or more.

I’ve had to slow down and refocus. I went back to my core destresser tools that will make a huge difference in my stress level, along with creating a stellar launch.

I wanted to share them with you in hopes of inspiring and helping you when you find yourself in times of stress, frustration, and maybe even indecision:

  1. Relax and Destress – I could write a book about this one! And I will settle with a couple of things that I earned from Melody Beattie that have helped me – Remembering that life doesn’t have to be a struggle. And there will be times that are busy and times that are slow. When we stress out about the busy times, we end up burning up our energy and won’t have much left for the project.

It is so much better to slow down, relax, and simply work on the project, letting go of stressing over the deadline. Simply focus on the task at hand calmly, easily, and with a big smile. Always say to yourself, “I got this!.”

I also find that having a daily practice like meditation or mindfulness helps. Spending quite time without being in deep thought is very refreshing.

What also helps with any project, and what calms me the most is having my project to-do list, with accompanying deadlines, who’s responsible, and the specific task list. As my amazing coach taught – Planning Promotes Perfect Performance. (I have loads of these spreadsheets, project lists, and even planning visual graphics with Gliffy.com. If you want help or inspiration, hit me up. Happy to share.)

Mantra: “I am slowing down and relaxing because it will all work out. I am following my inner guidance.
  2. Stop Trying So Hard – This one feels basically impossible sometimes because that’s my natural behavior—going above and beyond. Yet, it’s exhausting and will lead to more stress, and on and on the cycle goes. I know that I need to stop trying to force and make things happen. There is a better way – it’s called “surrender.” Melody Beattie says it best “You need to surrender not to the way you want things to be, but to the way things are, right now, sometimes that means we surrender to whatever we are feeling.”

Maybe you won’t get what you want today. We fool ourselves into thinking we have any control over things. The reality is we’re not really in control of much. And when you force things to happen, you’re actually disconnecting from your true power. When what you need to do is align with it. Much like Tai Chi, you relax and move with the energy, not against it.

    Mantra:
“Guide me to stop trying so hard to force things to happen. Help me remember that all is well and unfolding perfectly as planned.”
  3. Focusing on what you truly love about the work – This is when you will really shine because you will feel it inside and out. When you align with your intuition, you will be in alignment with your life’s work, how you will give back, and you will love what you do. When you do this, you will be rewarded internally and externally.

It will often feel like magic because things will feel like they’re magically falling into place. The biggest hurdle is to trust yourself and to take bigger risks when you follow your inner guidance. When you do this, the money will follow.

Shakti Gawain says it best – “The creative energy of the universe in all of us is limitless and readily available. The same is true of money.”

Mantra: “The universe is now paying me to do what I really love.”

Here’s our pact – Let’s do this together – make a promise – To be more mindful and grateful, and use tools like the ones I’ve mentioned above to destress. Let’s let go of trying so hard, and work on aligning with your life’s work, your intuition and being loving, and sharing with others.

Happy end of June and long holiday 4th of July weekend!. Here’s to fireworks, apple pie and barbecue. 🙂

Quote I’m Pondering:

“Cease trying to work everything out with your minds. It will get you nowhere. Live by intuition and inspiration, and let your whole life be a revelation. ~ Eileen Caddy

3 Powerful Mantras to Inspire: (From Me 🙂

Weekly Photos:

Nice sunrise before we headed out on our trip last week – We drove down to Southern CA to visit Alice’s parents. It’s a long drive, yet, we make it a bit adventurous. We spent the night half way, went to Camping World and ate some good food along the way. We had a wonderful visit, more breakfasts and dinners.

Plus, we ventured to Lake Arrowhead, a man made lake where all the Hollywood stars had homes along the lake. Think Doris Day, Dick Clark, Liberace and Lucille Ball. We took a fun boat tour. It was such a beautiful day with perfect temperatures in the mountains. Just for the record – all the photos below are original – didn’t touch up any of them – still loving this camera phone. 🙂
