Jumpstart your vision, best laid plans, and cosmic jokes…
Happy January 2023!
How are you feeling?
The first couple of weeks of January always feels like a bit of a blur to me. All the anticipation, shopping, presents, and prep for the holidays and New Year’s leaves me spinning.
So at the beginning of the month, I always try to take it slow.
It’s kind of nice to ease into the New Year.
Especially this year for me because the holidays were not at all how I envisioned or planned them.
It felt more like a cosmic joke filled with everyone getting some type of illness, from the C virus (Spam filters won’t let me spell it out – think pandemic. 🙂 to head colds.
And disrupted most of our plans, including my Mom, who’s still here (Her 7-day trip is now 17 days). Then there are all the illnesses and the crazy bomb cyclone weather that’s hitting today in Northern CA.
I’m writing this while on day 5 of the C virus. I’m weathering it reasonably well. Just darn tired, coughing lots, and achy.
Hence, it’s important to ease into the New Year with compassion and permission.
This leads me to —
Have you eased yourself into thinking about your vision, intention, and goals for this year yet?
To give you a quick jumpstart, here are some terrific questions from author Melody Beattie:
- What would do want to happen in your life this year?
- What do you want to accomplish?
- What good do you want to attract in your life?
- What areas do you want to grow and make changes in?
- What problems do you want to solve or tackle?
You can look at these questions in each of these core areas of your life:
- Career
- Relationships
- Financial
- Health
- Spiritual
The key is to focus on what you want for your life this year.

Then start creating your goals around it.
Remember, your goals need to be written down, be in the present tense, written in positive language, and be measurable.
You got this!
Let me leave you with this vision I created for you in 2023:
You are a Soulful Marketer –
- Stay connected to your true mission and vision to guide and transform others.
- Always come from a place of integrity, authenticity, and transparency.
- No hype, no marketing manipulation.
- Be honest, give back, and impact the lives of those you come into contact with – always.
Happy January, winter’s here with lots of much-needed rain in CA (Yay). Here’s to staying warm, dry, and nourished as we head into the second week of January.
