The Real Secret to Creating Outrageous Success (It’s not what you think.)
This week, something hit me on a deeper level about how I approach my work, my value, and how I want to show up and make a bigger impact in the world…
I mentioned a while back that I had signed up for Mel Robbin’s course Launch. The goal was to complete 3 projects over 6 months.
At first, I was completely overwhelmed cuz she gave us 41 daily videos that we had to watch for 5 – 25 minutes every day. Talk about training you to be disciplined…
Yet, what started as frustration became a lesson in discipline and persistence. It’s how I completed my first project in just 30 days—finishing my Soulful Marketing Manifesto.
Talk about being blown away. I still can’t believe I finished it that fast.
Fast forward to our third project… What’s even more interesting is she’s asking us to watch the same 41 videos again. Hmmmm… Really? The SAME videos?
How many times have you done that, reread a book, or revisited a course, and noticed things you didn’t catch the first time?
That’s what’s happening for me. Watching these videos again and rereading my notes, I’m in a completely different space, seeing new lessons and making deeper connections.
What amazed me about this experience is how when I watched it the first time where my head was, and now 2 months later, I’m in a different place.
So, instead of whining and moaning, I’m embracing this experience. Watching it again feels like a deeper knowing and connection.
It reminded me of how much growth can happen when we circle back to something familiar. It’s not about redundancy—it’s about embracing where you are now and being open to new insights.
Have you ever gone back to a course or book and found hidden gems you missed before?
Honestly, it’s gotten me thinking about some of the books and courses I’ve taken in the past. Maybe it’s time I revisit a few.
So how did I finish my manifesto in 30 days?
Let’s say you’re working on a project right now and are frustrated because it’s not going fast enough. You can’t seem to schedule the time for it, etc.
It’s easy to feel like things should move faster or be frustrated when you can’t carve out enough time to focus. But here’s where I want to introduce you to something powerful: The Progress Principle. It comes from research conducted by Teresa Amabile, a professor at Harvard Business School, and Steven Kramer, an independent researcher.
It’s that satisfying feeling you get when you see yourself making real, meaningful progress—on anything that matters to you.
When you shift your mindset, focus on your why, and celebrate small wins, you build momentum.
It’s a bit like one of my favorite impactful phrases I learned from my early days in business: small hinges swinging big doors.
The truth is, there’s no quick fix for achieving outrageous success. Even though loads of people are selling that snake oil, don’t buy it.
The secret is that the bigger your dream is, the more important the small, consistent daily actions become. When you commit to those little steps, they add up.
Imagine if you devoted just 30 minutes a day to working on your business for a year. That’s 184 EXTRA hours. Or about 4.6 extra weeks of focused work on your dream.
If you did that, what kind of impact would that have on your business? Your life?
Pretty powerful stuff, and I KNOW you can do it. AND, you know I’m right here, cheering you on, hands at your back.
Give me a shout. I’m always here for you. It’s who I am and what I do! 🙂

Finally, the temperature broke away from 102 degrees to more normal temperatures this time of year, with lows in the 50s and highs in the 80s. We’re not sweating bullets anymore. And let’s not even talk about our air conditioner, what a debacle. Let’s just say thank goodness for cooler weather. 🙂
- Enjoying the cooler weather – blanket time, and Emma sure loves getting all snuggled up in the early morning to watch the sunrise.
- Sometimes, while Emma’s enjoying the morning deck time, she even turns around to say hi.
- I just love Mt. Lassen in the early morning sunrise. Always a pretty silhouette on the skyline.
- It’s Always fun finding treasure in the rocks along the trails.
- Yeah, it was a cloudy kind of week. These look like big ole cotton balls!
- It’s kind of hard to see Emma’s buddy Harley; he’s our neighbor’s black Golden Doodle. Love walking these two together. They really watch out for one another.
- This was a kind of cool sunrise with these interesting clouds, partly made by some planes flying through, almost like a cross or tornado cloud.
