The Magic of Becoming Creatively Unstuck…
Have you ever been stuck, like writer’s block kind of stuck? And honestly, that phrase doesn’t quite fit for me cuz I’ve not ever had writer’s block. What I’ve had is a block in working more in my business. Have you ever struggled with that? I am top-notch when it comes to running everyone else’s business. In fact, I truly love working with my clients and being behind the scenes when it comes to helping them however I can with launching their business into the stratosphere. So why sometimes do I lack motivation when it comes to my own business and doing more than just one-on-one client work? This thought…

Rampage of Gratefulness, Appreciation & Blue-Skying
Today in the U.S., we’re celebrating Thanksgiving. I love this time of year when friends and family get together to share a meal (or a feast), gratitude, and connection with each other. This leads me to my fascinating adventure of this past week, where the topic was “the future of possibility.” It came up more than 3 times this past week. And as the Universe works in mysterious ways, none of them were planned… The first was a class about “Choices” that I talked about earlier in the month, where the topic was imagining a future choice I wanted to make. For me, it was about finishing my book. It…

This lil bugger has invaded my space…
So this happened… Earworms have invaded my space this week… Yep, this is a bit of an unusual topic. Surprisingly, earworms have a bit to tell us about messaging and mindset. Quick refresher: earworms are when you get a fragment of a song or a tune that literally can come out of nowhere (when you least expect it) in your head, and your mind starts humming or singing along. Sometimes even out loud. What I find fascinating is that scientists have studied this, showing how powerful our memory is with music.”(Interesting tidbit – if you put information to music, it can even help you remember facts and details more easily.) Did…

What frustrates me a lot is when…
I’d love to say that I’m Zen enough that nothing bothers me much anymore. And to some degree, that’s an honest statement. Then, on the other hand, when I spend money, and the company I give it to royally messes up a gift, it does kind of frustrate me. There’s one sure way of not getting any repeat business and having your business suck wind… That’s when a customer (me) purchases an item as a gift (for my Mom), and the company discovers it’s out of stock when trying to fulfill the order. Instead of checking with the customer (me)—they send another in stock item. This confuses the customer (me) when…

The biggest roadblock to your success might be… you
Have you ever been so stressed out and disorganized that work wasn’t getting done, and you felt like you were constantly disappointing your clients? Some of what you’re feeling may be true, and some may just be your stress and fear of disappointing your clients. Yet, whatever the issue is – you still feel like that – what can you do about it? This was me back when I first started my online strategic marketing and launch business. I was running by the seat of my pants most of the time. And I constantly bought new products, attended live in-person events, and was a learning machine. Yet, a lot of the…

Is your business like Nike? Lessons from an athletic shoe company
Last week, I shared about how your business changes over the years and how that change will impact your dream clients/customers. My core message was to ensure you connect with your power dream clients/customers and interview or give them a survey so you can take into account their needs before you implement your changes. This week, I promised to share some interesting insights from Nike (and the athletic shoe industry) – focusing on sales from a unique perspective. And how these insights can help your business. My spouse, during her college years, supported herself by working part-time at Athlete’s Foot. She was one of their top salespeople. She knows running and athletic…

Change is Inevitable
When I worked in Corporate America in the late 1990s and early 2000s, I had an amazing executive coach who I worked with for ten years. One of the things we focused on was how to deal with change, cuz at that point, I was dealing with at least two layoffs in three years. I often joked that I’d become a professional interviewer. The one quote that always stuck in my head about that time frame was, “Change is inevitable.” This is true, not just for your personal life. This is also true for your business. I guarantee over the course of your business. It will morph and change as you…

Marketing lessons from a popular weigh loss app
I love looking at popular brands and then breaking down their online dream client experience to see how it works. Yeah, I’m kind of geeky like that. The fascination is not just about the how. It’s also about the who, the what, and the why too. My recent experience is with a brand you may know of – Noom. In this blog post, I want to share with you some of my discoveries about their dream client experience and how it can help you in your business. I’ve had many friends and colleagues who have raved about Noom for losing weight. I remember checking it out a while back and getting…

Something a bit off the beaten path than my usual blogs…
Each week, when I sit down to write my weekly eNewletter, the idea usually just comes to me. I LOVE my intuition and connection with my inner writing and marketing guide. Yet, I often wonder if you’re a bit disappointed when you get this each week that I’m not giving you enough about marketing, launching, and making money… (If you have thoughts on this, leave a comment, I’d love to hear what you think.) Especially when I write an email like today’s – Something a bit off the beaten path, and it’s a bit of a long story. So tuck in, or save and read later. Before I get to my story……

The process of breaking through your internal barriers to creating new ideas
I’m wondering if you’re anything like me and have a ton of books in your “Save for later” category on Amazon. You know, the books people recommend on your Zoom calls, podcasts, and Facebook groups, listed in the back of like-minded author’s books, and more. Well, I finally went through mine last week and was pretty surprised at the number of books I’ve saved. Of course, I have no clue who recommended them and why. So, it was a bit of clicking and reading to figure out which ones would make it into my cart. I ordered a slew of them and just finished one that I thought was incredibly…

The psychology behind getting you to buy stuff…
I’m constantly curious about what tactics companies use to get me to buy their stuff. And believe me; there are some that do some very interesting manipulative maneuvers… So what exactly is the “Psychology behind getting you to buy stuff?” As you may know – people buy on emotion, then they rationalize their purchase afterward. Or they feel remorse and may end up returning it. Either way, there is a process that’s baked in psychology that fuels the sale. It’s about companies using hype language, browbeating you with fear, deadlines, discount popups, and flashing buy now buttons on their sites, or you will lose out on the deal of a lifetime.…

A Puzzling Perspective
I’ve not ever been a person who liked to do puzzles. I didn’t understand what drew people to put a picture together that was in pieces… It just never made sense to me. Until I met my spouse, who came from a family that, on Sundays, would have popcorn and apples, and they’d all do a puzzle together. Since we’ve been together, she’s always had a puzzle on the dining room table. It was a few years in that I noticed how enthralled she’d get doing them. And some pieces would wind up on the floor, the dog would get it, and I’d find it half chewed and have to bring…

The launch that simply wasn’t
Have you ever launched a course, product, or service and felt like you worked your tail off, and then the big day came……and it was crickets? A few trickles of sales came in, yet overall, it was a bit of a disappointment. Well, this happens way more than you think. The reality is there are SO MANY VARIABLES you have to get right to create a significant amount of sales for a launch. Most experts don’t tell you that you’re more than likely to bomb on your first and even second launch. This is why, as a soulful marketer, I always want to be honest and give the truth about what…

The fascinating adventures of Refrigerator Shopping… (Part 1)
It’s the beginning of 2023, and for me, it’s been a bit of a rocky start – with my New Year’s Eve CVD positive test, the cyclone rain bombs (and it’s still raining btw). And, finally, getting my Mom on a plane home… It was the best of times and the worse of times… 😉 I’m doing as much self-care as I can and focusing on what I’m grateful for… And one of those things is you! That’s why I wanted to share with you my spouse and I’s fascinating adventure of shopping for a refrigerator. I promise there will be some interesting lessons that will apply to your business.…
