Discover the hidden secret(s) in your business…
I know, I know, you might be thinking, “Geez Shannon, what’s with this gimmicky email header about hidden secrets that sounds more like clickbait?”
Yeah, I get it and to be totally honest, I did want you to open my email :-). Yet, it was more about me thinking….
That in my 17 years of running my business with hundreds of clients, almost all of them always had some fascinating piece of content that they had forgotten about, or worse, didn’t think it had any value.
Heavy sigh.
So I thought it was high time that I addressed this big elephant that’s hidden away in either a drawer, file cabinet (yes, I still have one of those), closet, storage shed, or maybe hidden away in one of your computers or old drives…
Have you ever encountered something you did several years ago and said to yourself, “Wow, I totally forgot I created that – cool!”? (Or maybe it’s just me as I’m aging. 😉
The reason I’m shedding some light on this is because of what I found earlier this year after going back over the body of content and knowledge that I’ve created for myself and for my clients.
I had no idea it was sooo much stuff. I definitely feel grateful for the opportunity to help so many people.
And because I’ve been going over it systematically, I not only found a pattern, I’ve also discovered some hidden gems of things I totally forgot I created and can use right now!
I know this will be the case for you, whether you’ve been in business for a year or over many years. When did you last go into your electronic file cabinet or real one to check out your files for content you created for yourself or to help others, or maybe things you created for your work with clients?
I know there are some hidden gems in there that, if they resonate with you, there’s new life you can breathe into them.
Plus, it’s also kind of fun.
I found a treasure trove of all my proposals I used to get big launch clients. I shared them with a colleague who was thrilled when he asked if he could have the file and I said sure.
And while you’re going through your content and files, you might want to look at reorganizing what you find a bit better for easier access. (Or maybe you’re super organized, which is way cool. Can you come over and help me?!) And if it’s in print, you can even scan it so you can access it electronically.
There are several good apps for that. My personal favorite is Scanner Pro, and there are many others out there as well. All done through your phone and the app’s camera, and turns them into PDFs or Word docs.
Something else that this exercise really helps with is if you’re getting a sudden case of imposter syndrome…
Realize that imposter syndrome has no place here. You have much value to give and knowledge to share to make a bigger impact in the world.
Yet, sometimes, many things have to align in order to let go of feeling like you don’t have the right degree, experience, knowledge, or worse, when we say to ourselves, “There are so many other people doing this, the world doesn’t need another — copywriter, marketer, coach, author, speaker, etc.”
That’s when I want to stop you and say like I did this week to at least three of my clients –
“You have tremendous talents and gifts. I promise—No one else on this planet has your exact experience, ideas, expertise, and more. You can be successful.
You simply need to believe in yourself first. Then we figure out how to create how and why you’re different from everyone else so you attract your exact dream clients.”
It’s time to discover those hidden secret files and treasures in your dusty file cabinet.
We’re in this together – remember that—I’m always here for you!
On another note—it’s the end of September in a few days – whoa, it’s gonna be the holidays before we know it. (Yeah, I said it.) Here’s to pumpkin lattes, gingerbread cookies, the sweet smell of fall, the colorful leaves, apples, pumpkins, and spooky creatures bumping in the night – it’s almost October…
Quotes I’m Pondering: by Tosha Silver, Outrageous Openness: Letting the Divine Take the Lead
“You see the Universe as the unlimited, abundant supply for your needs; you align yourself with receiving the highest solution at any given time. You stop groveling and pleading with others. You detach from how the answer needs to arrive and become wildly and totally open to the Divine. You invite the help and follow the route that is shown.”

Weekly Photos:
It’s not a weekly eNewsletter without the 4-legged appearance of the paw or the cute drugged-out look of Ms. Emma. The leaves are falling, and I love this leaf by Emma’s paw that always looks like a heart.
Then I’m back to finding heart-shaped rocks. They just appear out of nowhere.
It’s not a good week unless we have a good cloud picture and then one with a sunset, too – Bonus! Happy Thursday. 🙂
